Granola Bars and Such

Sampled one of these today and was delighted.  I think we spend half our monthly income on granola bars and seems a bit ridiculous when they should be pretty simple to make.  Please add more recipes or links to your favorite Bars.

  2. can't wait to try. we spend such a portion of grocery budget on granola bars too, and also seem to repeatedly paper my bag and the car floor with gross crumbly wrappers.which one did you make?

  3. The only problem is that my kids won't eat them! So I still buy them the packaged ones and stuff my own face with the homemade yumminess. Here's the other recipe I was telling you about, if you can do dairy and oats: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Easy-Granola-Bars/Detail.aspx

  4. yes, this turned out to be a HUGE problem, as in i had to throw most of it out cause they refused and i wasn't in love with it myself. i tried a pumpkin seed, cashew, and almond coated with chocolate thing. i couldn't get it to hold shape when i cut it up. i think a few things need to tweaking like how much or how little to grind the ingredients and how much muscle to put in to packing it down in the pan.

  5. I put mine (the joyful abode version) in muffin tins and found that the bottoms our drinking glasses were the perfect size to squish everything down in there (with a small sheet of parchment paper in between to prevent sticking). But I still had to keep them in the fridge because the coconut oil isn't too solid in the summer. So not the greatest thing for packing in lunch boxes now.
